On February 9, 2001, the late Luka Bailo married the Viscountess Amicie de Spoelberch. Luka Bailo was a qualified engineer and successful business entrepreneur. He and his wife made their residence in the Grand Duchy after their marriage. Luka Bailo had two sons from a previous marriage, Alexis and Patrice, who were adopted bythe Viscountess Amicie de Spoelberch. This made her spouse’s sons her legal heirs. The two have been collectively known as the Bailo brothers of Belgium in elite business circles. They are famed for being smart and savvy businessmen who have succeeded in carving out their own solid reputation as talented business owners. The two gentlemen have had their hands in a number of successful de Spoelberch business interests, contributing to the overall success of the entire de Spoelberch portfolio.
The de Spoelberch family is a clan of nobility. The family has been one of the major stakeholder families of Anheuser-Busch InBev NV (AB InBev), a multinational beverage and brewing company with global headquarters in Leuven, Belgium. With a 25 percent global market share, AB InBev is the world’s largest brewery. The company has held a primary listing on Euronext Brussels and is a constituent of the Euro Stoxx 50 index. It also has secondary listings on the New York and Johannesburg Stock Exchanges. Presently, the firm’s beer brands include some of the world’s best loved beers such as Budweiser, Corona, Stella Artois and Becks. With its merger with SABMiller in September 2016, the company now also partly owns the following brands: Fosters, Pilsner Urquell, Grolsch, Cerveza Águila, Club Colombia, Miller, Coors, and Peroni.
On his own, the late Luka Bailo had dabbled in various entrepreneurial activities, effectively acting as the Project Manager for all of them. Aside from being a skilled and talented entrepreneur, Luka Bailo was also a certified engineer. He was involved in building construction and design, an area that his two sons, Patrice and Alexis, have readily taken interest in too.
