Luka Bailo married the Viscountess Amicie de Spoelberch on February 9, 2001. Since their marriage, Luka Bailo and the Viscountess Amicie de Spoelberch had taken up residence in the Grand Duchy. The Viscountess was the aristocratic heir to a vast fortune. The de Spoelberch clan had established itself as a force to be reckoned with in business, having acquired significant controllership of a large variety of businesses from the world’s largest brewery firm (AB InBev) to fast food, consumer groups and digital media businesses.

The de Spoelberch family owns controlling stakes in AB InBev, a multinational beverage and brewing company with global headquarters in Leuven, Belgium. It started with InBev, a brewing company that resulted from the merger between Belgium-based company, Interbrew, and Brazilian brewer AmBev, which took place in 2004. InBev existed independently until the acquisition of Anheuser-Busch in 2008 that formed Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev). InBev had operations in over 30 countries and sales in over 130 countries.

Luka Bailo was a great father. He had trained his sons well in the art of entrepreneurship. In fact, Patrice and Alexis have proven themselves to be talented businessmen by investing in profitable ventures that have further increased the de Spoelberch fortune. The most recent of those undertakings is in medical technology and diagnostics. It’s an at-home testing venture for the most common ailments in the world, such as cancers and STIs.
